GARDEN PARK INVESTMENTS LOOKS TO BUILD UPON SUCCESS OF £25 MILLION PETERBOROUGH SCHEME
The following article appears in "PRoperty" the Revolution Public Relations newsletter.
Garden Park Investments, the garden retail destination specialist, is looking to build upon the success of its latest scheme, the 15-acre Peterborough Garden Park in Cambridgeshire, which has witnessed trading levels that have exceeded all expectations since it opened to public acclaim in early February.
The £25 million development, anchored by garden centre operator Van Hage, was 85% pre-let when it was launched to the public in February.
Gordon Edington, Chairman of Garden Park Investments, said: “The Garden Park concept of bringing together the best in garden centre and lifestyle retail-ing in a purpose built environment has proved to be enormously popular with both the retailers and the general public.
“The overwhelming response from cus-tomers, despite the difficult economic conditions, has proved beyond doubt the massive trading potential offered by our Garden Park model. It is the first time that Le Creuset, Hawkins Bazaar and Past Times have taken space in this type of envi-ronment and all of the occupiers are reporting excellent trading figures.”
Other retailers at the scheme include Cotswold, Cotton Traders, Maidenhead Aquatics and Pets Corner.
Edward Olley, Chief Executive of Garden Park Investments, comments: “The response to the Garden Park has been tremendous and given the level of expertise our team have now built up, we are looking at further sites around the country and interested in new ideas and re-tailing concepts that would further complement the Garden Park offer.”
Cushman & Wakefield is the letting agent for the scheme. Further information is available from: www.peterboroughgardenpark.co.uk.
